Colonic Details
How
Many Colonics will you need ?
The
number of treatments required always varies with the individual
and her/his prevailing condition. Often the waste is so hard and
well loaded in the Colon that it may take a series of seven Colonics
to sufficiently soften and loosen this Accumulated Fecal Material.
Some people may not have startling results for the first few treatments.
That is why a series of at least three treatments is recommended
as well as advisable.
You will be given instructions for proper exercise and diet of Non-Mucous
producing foods. Fresh fruits, Vegetables and certain Herbs are
suggested to help loosen and dissolve accumulated fecal matter.
The suggested series of treatments would be two Colonics per week
for seven weeks. Once the Colon is clean, it is advisable to have
a Colonic quarterly during the following year. An easy way to remember
is to have a Colonic at the changing of the Seasons when diet and
exercise patterns change. You should have a Colonic before, during,
and after any FASTING ACTIVITY to hasten removal of Toxic waste
and it would also be beneficial during the cold and flu season.
What
are the Benefits ?
Colonics
offer relief from a variety of disturbances by cleansing the Colon
of Impacted and Putrefactive Fecal Matter. Fatigue, Gas, Headaches,
Irritability, Skin Problems, Cold Hands and Feet, Lethargy are among
the problems people have found relieved by Colon Cleansing. Constipation,
of course, is another as well as Chronic Diarrhea. Your sense of
well-being is often dramatically improved with the Colonic Process
or Colon Cleansing. You feel lighter, more energetic. The body can
again assimilate food in the Colon and better defend itself against
disease. Natural Peristalsis, Tone and Regularity are restored and
many Serious Diseases may be averted through this gentle, sterile,
scientific technique. Colonics are a key factor in the restoration
of the body's natural balance or what we call good health.
Are
there Side Effects ?
There
are no side effects. It is not uncommon however, for some people
to start to feel like they have a cold or headache after a Colonic.
Toxins which have been lying dormant in the Colon are now being
flushed out and a small amount may be Re-Absorbed into the body's
system. This healing crisis passes quickly and the person will realize
a feeling of well-being with further treatments.
Will
Colonics Damage Normal Intestinal Flora ?
The
normal intestinal flora will NOT be disturbed. One of the functions
of the first half of the Colon is to gather the Intestinal Flora
needed for the Colon. When the accumulation of feces in the bowel
leads to Fecal Encrustation, it is difficult for the Colon to function
normally and the glands in this lining cannot produce the necessary
Intestinal Flora. The resulting lack of lubrication intensifies
a state of constipation and generates Toxemia. This upsets the normal
Acid-Alkaline balance and the growth of the Friendly Bacteria is
stunted. Cleansing the Colon will help bring the Acid-Alkaline ratio
back into balance. In this environment, the Friendly Bacteria will
again thrive and disease causing bacteria will find it difficult
to develop.
Over years of experience with fasting and cleansing have convinced
us that each year the colons of many become distorted. We firmly
believe that, unless all fecal matter is removed, no amount or kinds
of drugs, operations, vitamins, or food supplements (including ours)
can rid the body of many conditions of ill health. Therefore, the
most important procedure directed towards regaining best health
is the complete and thorough cleansing of the colon, no matter what
or how long it takes.
A Seven-Day Cleanse (Fast) should be a must for everyone two to
four times per year. Scientists have found that certain tiny water
animals, alternately fed one week and starved the next during their
entire life, lived five times longer than those that were fed all
the time. Moderate fasting should be a routine procedure for everyone.
Our cleansing program is designed so that the glands and organs
of the body can take a much needed rest.
The
Colema Board
The
Colema Board is preferred for an easier and more efficient cleanse.
However, if finances do not permit, use the enema instructions (provided
on the following page) and enema equipment (purchased from a pharmacy).
The Colema Board has been designed to provide a private, safe, and
easy way to take a high enema or home Colonic. Once you are in the
correct position, it is possible to relax during the balance of
the procedure. Both hands are free, so you can massage the abdomen
and colon freely. The massaging technique is most important for
best results.
Note: One five-gallon bucket must be used with the Colema Board.
You will prefer a white bucket so you can judge the amount of water
remaining. (A 5 gal. Caddy may be purchased from the Awareness Institute
or a Bucket from any Home Supply Store.)
SOLUTIONS FOR THE COLEMA BOARD COLONIC – (SELECT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING)
Coffee: 3 tablespoons of ground Coffee in 1 quart of water.
Bring to boil and simmer 15 minutes. Strain through strainer and
cloth, put in bucket (5 gallon) and add water to make 5 gallons.
Epsom Salts: 1 tablespoon of Epsom Salts dissolved in 5 gallons
of water.
Lemon Juice: 1/4 cup strained lemon juice in 5 gallons of
water.
Garlic: 4 cloves of garlic - cut up and put in blender with
1 cup of water. Strain.
Put in caddy or bucket and fill with water.
Catnip: 2 cups of Catnip in 2 cups of water. Bring to boil
and boil 3 minutes. Strain and put in bucket and fill with water.
This has a particularly calming effect on the system.
Note: Most water temperatures for giving Colonics range from cool
to very warm, but should be a comfortable temperature for the individual
user.
The solution caddy/bucket (5 gallon) should be supported so that
the bottom of the bucket is approximately 20 to 42 inches above
the Colema Board using a chair for support, place the head end of
the Colema Board on a chair with the exhaust portion over the toilet
bowl or second bucket (If there is insufficient room in the bathroom
you may wish to relocate to another room. In so doing, use a second
five gallon bucket under the (Colema Board to contain the exhaust).
Use a colander in the toilet or exhaust bucket so you can examine
any unusual matter that may be expelled.
Place a folded towel or foam pad on the Colema Board, so that it
will be comfortable to lie on. Lubricate the plastic tip with any
convenient lubricant or OLIVE OIL is perfect for this use. Position
your body on the Colema Board and insert the plastic tip into the
rectum opening (anus). Slide down the Board until the buttocks touches
the edges of the buttock support. The tip should be inserted no
more than 3 inches. Adjust the depth by slipping the tip further
into the tubing.
Open the clamp to allow the solution to flow freely into the colon.
Start massaging upward on the left side (descending colon). If you
find tender, sore spots, continue to massage that area until the
tenderness is gone. Continue upwards just below the ribs, then across
just below the ribcage (transverse colon), and down the right side
(ascending colon). Try to eliminate sensitive areas as you proceed.
When it becomes necessary to evacuate, simply relieve the bowel
by expelling the water.
The Fetal matter will bypass the tip allowing normal bowel action,
without removing the up or changing your position. Colema Board
encourages normal peristalsis, without producing bowel distention.
Continue this procedure until you have finished eliminating or until
you have exhausted the contents in the bucket. This will normally
take one half to one hour. Remove the colander and rinse the collected
contents to expose collected matter.
Do not be alarmed over some of the strange material you have passed.
You should examine such debris carefully wearing protective gloves.
It is not unusual to pass rope-like material that is somewhat lengthy
and elastic. Remember that the success of the Colonic may well depend
more on the massaging technique than the amount of solution used.
NOTE: You may use an electric massager if you prefer.
If you are over thirty, look for a sticky Grey or Brown substance
resembling the white of an egg or a jellyfish (unhealthy mucous).
Do not flush the toilet during the entire Colonic, so you can see
what comes out. If you have any kind of chronic ailment, you undoubtedly
will have some black incrustations which may have been loosened
by the Cleanser but cannot be eliminated because of twisted kinks
in the colon. If there are no absolute blockages, these black incrustations
may come out in small or large chunks, or as long ribbons, or as
hard and tough pieces resembling pieces of truck tires you have
seen on the highway, but smaller of course. If necessary take two
or three of these Colonic enemas per day for the whole 7 days. Remember
that until the colon is completely clean, whatever ills you have
will not disappear. Cleaning the colon is by far the most important
job you should have on your mind at this moment.
Please note that an enema is the same as a Colonic but doesn't go
as far up (usually only up to the descending colon). We resist on
going all the way up, across, and down to the appendix. All must
be cleaned out. If you are unable to give yourself a Colonic, contact
a doctor, or Colon Therapist/Hygienist who gives them, but make
him/her give the massage too. Just running a mass of water into
the colon is not wholly desirable (Massaging is the key!)
Upon completion of the irrigation, wash the board, tubes, and tip
with a good germicidal solution. Be sure not to boil the plastic
tip as it may cause distortion in shape.
The
Enema
If
the Colema Board is not used, we suggest the following instruction
for using an enema. (Fleet or other brand names are available through
pharmacies or drug stores 2-qt size preferred). For best results
we recommend strong black caffeine coffee for the enema. Take at
least one enema each night for the full 7 days. In more severe cases,
more enemas per day may be necessary. The caffeine in coffee apparently
helps to stimulate and increase peristaltic action of the colon.
For each enema use 2-4 well rounded tablespoonfuls of (regular coffee
(not instant or decaffeinated) to two quarts of water. Boil thoroughly
or perk in a coffee maker, (Most people prefer to make one gallon
at a time.)
Cool and test the temperature with your elbow, you should not be
able to feel either warmth or coolness. Do not have the water bag
hanging more than two feet above the rectum. Lie on the bathroom
floor, on your left side. Insert the lubricated enema tip, allow
only 1/2 cup of liquid to enter at one time. Then get up off the
floor to a knee-to-chest position (squatting) with weight of body
balanced on the knees and one hand: use the other hand to massage
the lower abdomen (lower left side) thoroughly for several minutes.
Lie again on left side and add more coffee, each time using only
a very small amount and always stopping before pressure is felt
Retention is most important. The longer you retain the coffee mixture
in the colon the better, thus reducing the time and amount of coffee
needed. If you have the urge to go and only fluid comes out, nothing
is accomplished. You have been too impatient and have used too much
fluid too fast and not enough massaging between. To do a good job
will take at least a full hour or more. Putting in only 1/2 cup
of coffee and massaging a 2 inch area at a time, following up the
descending colon, then over the transverse colon to your right side,
then down the ascending colon to the appendix. You need not limit
your liquid intake to two quarts. More liquid may be needed. While
coffee is best, you may occasionally alternate with lemon juice
(use the juice of one lemon to two quarts of water) or Epsom Salts
dissolved in warm water as per instructions).
In extreme difficult cases and as a last resort, use one pint of
olive oil instead of the coffee enema, but massage, massage, massage
all the way up the left side, across, and down the right side, then
hold as long as possible.
