Oy Vey to Joy Vey
 


Guided Imagery:

Find a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the home and especially away from the kitchen. Sit in a relaxed posture or lie down.  It really doesn't matter. Clear your mind. This means not formulating our shopping list until afterwards or picking out what kind of bagels you plan to get at the shop when you are there. Take a few deep breaths. Come on now. You can do it. Just release whatever it is you might be worrying about today. Forget about the dry cleaning for a few minutes. It will be there. It's not going anywhere. On the count of three, take a deep breath inhaling as much air as you possibly can and, "Hold it". On the exhale, release the breath and say the Oy Vey mantra. Half of the air expelling should be the OY and the rest will be the VEY Feel the fullness of these two syllables. Repeat three times. Then sit and bask in the revelation and relaxation. Notice how all your cares have disappeared. At least for a few minutes until the next onslaught on things to worry about comes in. Repeat  this daily, if you can.  It gets better over time.
